When looking at compliance with the international conventions, local laws and regulations and industry standards, Exmar promotes efficiency.
With that in mind, Exmar actively participates in discussions with local and international authorities and also provides input in the development in new legal or industry initiatives.
In this context Exmar has been and is actively participating in the following initiatives:
- The new Belgian Maritime Code
www.zeerecht.be - Standard agreements and clauses applicable in the shipping industry (e.g. piracy clause, Gasvoy, ...)
www.bimco.org - The Belgian Tonnage Tax regime and the revival of the Belgian Shipregister
www.shipregistration.be - IMO International Code for the Construction and Equipment of Ships Carrying Liquefied Gasses in Bulk (IGC or Gas Code)
- Developing class rules for LNG Vessels and LNG-RVs with IACS members
- OCIMF/SIGTTO: Ship to Ship Guide, (Liquefied Gases) Second Edition; Drafting of the Ship to Ship Guide, (Liquefied Gases) Second Edition and tandardization of Manifold for Refrigerated Liquefied Gas Carriers (LNG)
